First day of the Beijing Olympics: 13 countries won medals

Athletes from 13 countries won medals on the first day of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics on February 5.

Axar.az informs that the Norwegian team leads the medal list. Athletes from this country won two gold medals. The Slovenian team took second place with 1 gold and 1 bronze medal. The Netherlands, Sweden and China share 3-5 places with 1 gold medal.

At the Winter Olympics, which will last until February 20, more than 2,800 athletes from 91 National Olympic Committees are competing for 109 sets of medals in 15 sports.

The Azerbaijani national team is represented by two athletes in Beijing 2022. These are figure skaters Vladimir Litvintsev and Ekaterina Ryabova. Litvintsev will be on the ice on February 8 and 10. Ryabova will demonstrate her skills on February 15 and 17.
