Rafael Agayev was given a new position and rank

Well-known Azerbaijani karateka, five-time world and 11-time European champion Rafael Agayev have been given a new position and rank in the State Customs Committee (SCC).

Axar.az reports the 37-year-old athlete has been relieved of his post as an inspector in the Customs Service of the Azerterminalkompleks Association.

Agayev has been appointed head of the department of combat and physical training at the Main Customs Protection Service.

An experienced karateka was also awarded the rank of major.

It should be noted that Rafael Agayev won a silver medal in the weight category of 75 kg at the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.
