Azerbaijan's freestyle wrestler Haji Aliyev has started competing in the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris, the capital of France.

Axar.az reports that Aliyev, a three-time world and four-time European champion competing in the 65 kg weight category, faced Mexican Austin Gomes.

The match ended with a 7:0 victory for our representative. H. Aliyev will fight against Hungarian representative Ismail Muszukayev in the 1/4 finals.

Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Haji Aliyev held his second match at the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris, the capital of France.

Aliyev, a three-time world and four-time European champion competing in the 65 kg weight class, fought against Ismail Muszukayev, a representative of Hungary, in the quarter finals.

In the meeting, Aliyev lost to his opponent with a score of 3:10. Despite this, Haji kept his medal chance.

So, if Muszukayev qualifies for the finals, our athlete will have a chance to compete for bronze.

Note that Paris-2024 will end on August 11.
