Galatasaray coach calls for Azerbaijani referee

In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round, Galatasaray, from Turkiye, lost 2:3 to the Swiss team Young Boys. Following the match, Galatasaray's head coach, Okan Buruk, requested that an Azerbaijani referee be appointed for the return leg.

Axar.az reports that the coach expressed his dissatisfaction with the German referee's performance at the post-match press conference.

"They appoint a referee from Germany for the Swiss team's game. He came here by car. They should appoint a referee from Azerbaijan for us to level the situation," O. Buruk emphasized.

The return match between Galatasaray and Young Boys is scheduled to take place in Istanbul on August 27.
