Axar.az reports that this was stated by Fernando Santos, the head coach of the Azerbaijan national football team, at a press conference before the UEFA Nations League match against Sweden.

The Portuguese specialist evaluated the chances and discussed the preparations:

"We had invited 50 players. These were the ones we selected. We are preparing to build a team for the future. There is no need for radical changes. I will be working with the players for the first time. We don’t have the option to change physical conditioning. It will be as it is in their clubs. This will be the preparation base. We want to create a competitive team."

It should be noted that the national team will play against Sweden in Baku on September 5 and against Slovakia in Košice on the 8th.
