A Condor Airlines Boeing 757-300, flying from the Greek island of Corfu to Düsseldorf, caught fire shortly after takeoff.

Axar.az informs, citin RTL, the aircraft, carrying 263 passengers and eight crew members, experienced an engine fire immediately after departure, according to Caliber.Az citing foreign media.

The pilots quickly decided to make an emergency landing in Brindisi, Italy, where the plane touched down safely.

Airline officials reported that the fire was caused by a disruption in the engine’s airflow.

Due to a shortage of hotel accommodations, many passengers had to stay overnight at Brindisi airport. Condor sent another plane to transport the travelers to Düsseldorf.
