Iran and EU countries (the United Kingdom, Germany, and France) were close to reaching an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program, but the United States intervened, and under Washington’s pressure, the European countries pulled back.

Axar.az reports that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated this.

“When we were talking with the Europeans in New York about the ‘snapback’ (automatic sanctions mechanism), we were very close to an agreement, but then they spoke with the Americans, looked for excuses, and changed their minds,” Pezeshkian said.
