Russian accidentally shot down own fighter jet

Russian air defenses accidentally shot down one of their own warplanes overnight while attempting to intercept Ukrainian drones.

Axar.az informs, citing Ukrainian media, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk reported this.

“They were repelling Ukrainian attacks so actively that they ended up shooting down their own aircraft over Crimea,” Pletenchuk said.

Pletenchuk added that following the overnight strikes on Russian-occupied Crimea, another major fire broke out at a local oil depot.
