Iran and Lebanon maintain strong diplomatic ties

Iran and Lebanon continue to enjoy a long and strong diplomatic relationship.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Ismail Baghaei, an official representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

"The new ambassador of Lebanon recently arrived in Tehran. The inquiries and procedures for Iran to appoint a new ambassador to Lebanon were completed some time ago. We hope that our new ambassador will arrive in Beirut soon," Baghaei said.

According to Baghaei, Lebanon should increase its focus on protecting its national sovereignty and territorial integrity:

"We are against any statements that could distract the attention of Lebanese society and government from the main issue of this country."
