The Ankara Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into the Turkish parts of the documents related to the case of American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
Axar.az informs that the Cumhuriyet newspaper reported on this.
It is reported that the Prosecutor General's Office is reviewing approximately three million documents submitted by the US Department of Justice. The investigations cover allegations related to Turkiye in the Epstein case documents, as well as the possibility that young Turkish girls were taken to the billionaire's island.
The investigation was initiated after statements by Turhan Chomez, deputy chairman of the opposition İYİ Party. In December 2025, he shared on social networks that the documents related to the Epstein case contained information that young girls from Turkiye were taken to the island. It was after these statements that the prosecutor's office decided to officially investigate the issue.
Currently, the Turkish Prosecutor's Office is reviewing all the information related to the country in the Epstein case file. Additional information is expected to be provided on the results of the investigation.
