Trump says new leadership in Iran must favor US and Israel

President Donald Trump said Friday that Iran’s leadership has been “neutered” and that he is seeking new leadership that will treat the United States and Israel favorably, even if that leader is a religious figure and Iran remains a non-democratic state.

Axar.az reports, citing CNN, Trump, in a phone interview, said:“Iran is not the same country it was a week ago. A week ago they were strong, and now they’ve been effectively neutered."

During the call, Trump also predicted that Cuba would fall “soon” and highlighted the importance of voter ID laws, suggesting they could play a decisive role in his Texas Senate endorsement.

He expressed confidence that selecting a new leader in Iran — a process he says the U.S. should be involved in — would be straightforward, drawing a comparison to Venezuela, where the U.S. recently helped install a cooperative leader after Nicolás Maduro was captured.
