Direct Israel-Lebanon talks set for Tuesday in DC

Lebanon’s and Israel’s ambassadors in Washington held a preparatory phone call mediated by the United States, marking the first direct contact between the two sides.

Axar.az reports, citing Times of Israel, the call took place ahead of planned direct talks between Israel and Lebanon, which are expected to be held on Tuesday at the U.S. Department of State in Washington under American mediation.

According to the report, the meeting will bring together the Lebanese, Israeli, and U.S. ambassadors as part of efforts to launch formal negotiations.

The discussions come amid broader U.S. diplomatic pressure to advance talks and reduce tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with Washington playing a central mediating role.
