Iran’s Supreme Leader recovering from severe war injuries

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is reportedly still recovering from severe facial and leg injuries sustained in an airstrike at the beginning of the war, in which his father was killed.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, according to three sources familiar with his inner circle, Khamenei suffered facial disfigurement and a significant injury to one or both legs during the attack on the Supreme Leader’s compound in central Tehran.

The sources said the 56-year-old is still recovering but remains mentally sharp, adding that he takes part in meetings with senior officials via audio conferencing and is involved in decision-making on major issues, including the war and negotiations with Washington.
