Italy’s Meloni issues rare criticism of Trump

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has condemned remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Pope Leo XIV.

Axar.az reports that Meloni described Trump’s comments toward the Holy Father as “unacceptable.”

“The Pope is the head of the Catholic Church, and it is right and normal for him to call for peace and condemn all forms of war,” she said in a statement.
