Trump says Iran deal possible 'in a day or two'

U.S. President Donald Trump said that he expects a deal with Iran to be finalized within “a day or two,” saying negotiations could conclude over the weekend.

Axar.az reports, citing Axios, progress has been made toward a proposed three-page framework agreement, although key differences remain unresolved.

Trump also claimed that discussions would involve the release of $20 billion in frozen Iranian assets in exchange for Iran giving up its stockpile of enriched uranium, along with a halt on enrichment activities.

He said the deal would help stabilize the region and “make Israel safe,” while also calling for a halt to Israeli strikes in Lebanon, warning that continued attacks would not be acceptable.

Iran has also said it would open the Strait of Hormuz during the current ceasefire period, though details remain unclear.
