Zakharova: Japan’s remarks on Putin visit unacceptable

Japanese authorities have gone so far as to brazenly tell Russia’s leader which regions he can visit, and this is completely unacceptable.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made the remarks.

“Statements circulated on August 13 by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Iturup Island, which, like the entire Kuril Islands, is legally an integral part of our country, are extremely outrageous and completely unacceptable,” she said.

It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Iturup Island in the Kuril Islands during his trip to Sakhalin the previous day.
