Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Axar.az reports that Sybiha said on X that the talks focused on mutual steps to prevent further escalation of tensions between Ukraine and Iran.

The sides agreed to keep existing channels of communication open.

Sybiha said they also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and Europe, as well as various ongoing peace efforts.

He reiterated Ukraine’s position in support of restoring peace and stability in both regions as soon as possible.
