Syrian authorities said on Tuesday that they had dismantled a Hezbollah cell preparing a missile attack in Daraa province in the country’s south.

Axar.az reports, citing SANA, that the General Intelligence Directorate, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, carried out a preventive security operation in the Yarmouk Basin area of Daraa, foiling a planned attack by Hezbollah and arresting a cell linked to the group.

According to a statement posted on the Internal Security Forces’ Telegram channel, the cell consisted of three individuals identified as F.K., Z.M. and L.C. The statement said the operation was launched after security forces closely monitored an attempt to prepare missile launchers for an attack aimed at destabilizing the area.

The authorities said the launchers were completely destroyed. Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be referred to the relevant judicial authorities to face legal proceedings.
