One of the pilots of a Flydubai aircraft flying from the UAE to Tel Aviv was a UAE national, while the other was an Omani national.

Axar.az reports, citing Israeli media, that the Omani co-pilot attacked the captain.

An investigation has been launched into the pilots. Israel has classified the incident as a terrorist act.

Both pilots could have their flying licenses temporarily suspended pending the completion of the investigation. If it is confirmed that one of them deliberately attempted to steer the aircraft toward the ground, that individual could face serious charges.

It should be noted that the Flydubai aircraft flying from the UAE to Tel Aviv issued an emergency signal over suspected hijacking. It was later reported that a fight had broken out between the pilots on board.
