Zelensky: Putin wants to restore soviet-era influence

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to restore the same level of influence that Russia had during the Soviet era.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that Zelensky said this while discussing the Russian President’s plans.

“In other words, he wants to take Ukraine back and occupy Kazakhstan. He already has strong influence in Belarus. He wants to restore all of this. This is also where the risks for the Baltic states and other countries that share a border with Russia come from,” Zelensky said.
