A rally began in front of the parliament in Armenia

The issue of revoking the immunity of the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Charukyan and bringing him to justice was discussed in the Armenian parliament.

Axar.az reports that Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan addressed the parliament on the issue.

It should be noted that yesterday the National Security Service launched an investigation in all offices of the Prosperous Armenia Party. At the same time, the chairman of the party was taken to the MTC and involved in the investigation. His illegal casino and other activities caused 30 billion drams (about $ 62 million) in damage to the state budget. At the same time, Charukyan is accused of extorting money from voters during the 2017 elections.

Supporters of the Prosperous Armenia Party have been protesting since yesterday. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.

The action is still going on in front of the parliament.
