Russia will not leave the WTO - Birichevsky

Russia does not intend to leave the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Axar.az reports that this was said by the director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Dmitri Birichevsky.

He said that the Russian side is considering all options for its participation in multilateral trade, analyzing the balance of benefits and costs of full membership in the organization:

"The refusal to join the WTO will be seen in the eyes of the West as proof of the effectiveness of their anti-Russian line. This will affect the hardening of their anti-Russian policy and the strengthening of erosion processes in the regulation of the world economy. The WTO is an irreplaceable global platform. Based on this, Russia establishes trade and economic relations with countries that do not act unfriendly towards it."
