The number of murders in Russia has increased sharply

For the first time in the last 20 years, the number of murders and attempted murders has increased in Russia.

Axar.az reports that this was mentioned in the report of the "Travmpunkt" bar association.

"Until 2022, the General Prosecutor's Office indicated that murders and assassinations were in a state of steady decline. If in 2002 the number of these figures was 32265, in 2021 it decreased to 7332. But in 2022, the numbers suddenly increased by 4 percent (7,628), the report said.

The authors of the report said that the increase in murders and assassinations is registered in the border regions with Ukraine. Compared to 2021, this figure has increased from 52 to 102 in the Belgorod region, and from 58 to 89 in the Kursk region. An increase was also recorded in Tambov (from 26 to 44), Kirov (from 45 to 62), Buryatia (from 134 to 177), and Moscow region (from 269 to 413).
