The Georgian mobile operator "Selfie Mobile" launched the new generation 5G Internet technology for the first time in Georgia. The network is already active in two districts of Tbilisi, as well as in Bakuriani and Gudauri winter resorts.

Axar.az reports that the National Communications Commission of Georgia has released information about this.

"This was the beginning of a historical stage for our country. Because the frequency resource auctioned by the Communications Commission in August and used by "Selfie Mobile" for the implementation of 5G meets the standards of the 5G network of the world's leading countries", said Yekaterina Imedadze, a member of the commission.

According to him, after the introduction of technology, Georgia was ranked among the technologically developed countries of the world.
