We will hit these bases instantly: NATO will not respond

Russia will attack foreign military bases in Ukraine if they are established.

Axar.az reports that this was written by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, on the Telegram channel.

Speaking about the EU's declaration of security guarantees for Ukraine, Medvedev pointed out that the document itself is a "meaningless a piece of paper" without any added value:

"This document allows Kyiv to conclude agreements with individual countries that provide for the supply of weapons, training of military personnel, and financing of military programs, including the creation of military bases in Ukraine.

This is the model of "we will not admit you to NATO, we do not want a war with Russia but do not say no to yourself on an individual basis." And the question here is how they will interpret Article 5 of the Washington Treaty. In other words, when Russia hits such a base (and it will inevitably happen because the military of the base came specifically to fight against us), will the countries of the alliance be ready to respond collectively to us for the destruction of the base created by one of the NATO countries? An attack on any military base is certainly grounds for the application of Article 6 of this treaty ("An armed attack on the armed forces, ships or aircraft of any of the Contracting Parties"). But what follows is more interesting, the response does not have to be military and collective, as indicated in the same Article 5 of the agreement."
