The weekend has changed in Iran: Saturday has become Sunday

On May 15, the Iranian parliament approved a law on changing the places of holidays and working days of the week.

Axar.az reports that according to the decision of the Iranian parliament, Friday and Saturday were declared official holidays in the country.

"Having Saturday as a holiday is very beneficial for the country from an economic point of view and will play a major role in the country's international relations with other countries," it was said in the discussion of the law.

It should be noted that Thursday and Friday were holidays in Iran, and Saturday was the first working day of the week. The fact that Thursday is a holiday has cost the country 8 billion dollars a year in terms of international trade relations.
