Berlin does not allow new sanctions on Russia

The German government is blocking approval of a new package of sanctions on Russia's liquefied natural gas exports, aimed at strengthening controls on circumvention of EU restrictive measures against Russia.

Axar.az informs that TASS agency reported this with reference to its source in Brussels.

"Recently, there has been an impression that Germany has turned into a new Hungary," the source said.

It is noted that the main purpose of the new sanctions is to combat the evasion of previously accepted restrictions, especially the purchase of Western technologies by the Russian defense industry. It is also planned to ban the use of European ports for sending Russian liquefied natural gas to third countries.
