Pashinyan called Pezeshkian and did not invite him to Yerevan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Azerbaijani Masoud Pezeshkian.

Axar.az reports that the office of the Prime Minister of Armenia released information about this.

Pashinyan congratulated the President of Iran on his victory in the elections and wished him an efficient performance in this position. The interlocutors confirmed that they are committed to the agreements reached at the interstate level earlier.

The information released about the phone conversation does not say anything about Pashinyan inviting Pezeshkian to visit Yerevan. The phrase "the parties have agreed to meet as soon as possible" was used.

It should be noted that before that President Ilham Aliyev called Pezeshkian and invited him to visit Azerbaijan.
