Climate change fuels new viruses, says Gates

Climate change is causing the emergence of new viruses.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

He explained that most viruses, including dangerous ones like HIV, Ebola, and COVID-19, originate from animals:

“HIV came to humans from chimpanzees in Africa, while Ebola and COVID-19 viruses came from bats. Human interference in animals' natural habitats is intensified by climate change, creating ideal conditions for the spread of new viruses. The destruction of ecosystems makes people more vulnerable to new diseases.”
