Armenian official fined for state property embezzlement

Former Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia Alik Mirzabekyan and his associates will pay 200 million drams (approximately $500,000) to the government.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.

It is noted that on October 8, 2020, A. Mirzabekyan was charged with embezzling state property, and an investigation was launched. On August 30, 2024, an agreement was signed, according to which Mirzabekyan and his associates will pay 200 million drams to the state budget. Additionally, it was announced that they will hand over five real estate properties, one car, twelve bank deposits, and bonds.

It is worth mentioning that A. Mirzabekyan was dismissed from the position of Deputy Defense Minister on April 26, 2016, after the "Four-Day War." It was stated that his dismissal was due to the failure during these battles.
