A "mutually beneficial agreement" was reached with Qatar to release six billion dollars of Iran's frozen funds.

Axar.az reports that Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said this while returning to Tehran from his visit to Qatar.

According to information, after the release of the South Korean banks, those funds are kept in Qatar.

"We have funds in the amount of six billion dollars in Qatari banks. In the meeting between the heads of the central banks of the two countries, as well as in the conversation with the Emir of Qatar, we reached a mutual good understanding on this issue," the Iranian President emphasized.

It should be recalled that an agreement was reached between Iran and the United States on the release of six billion dollars of financial resources of the Islamic Republic in 2023 through the mediation of Qatar. This funding was frozen in 2018 as a result of two South Korean banks being subject to US sanctions.
