Biden will not pardon son Hunter before leaving office

U.S. President Joe Biden will not pardon his son, Hunter Biden, who faces charges of three gun-related offenses and tax evasion before leaving office.

Axar.az reports that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated this during a briefing while responding to journalists’ questions.

“There is no plan for President Biden to pardon his son, Hunter Biden,” she added.

It should be noted that, according to U.S. law, the sitting president has the authority to grant pardons before leaving office. An investigation into the 54-year-old Hunter Biden’s firearm possession began in 2018, revealing that he owned a revolver while using narcotics. U.S. law prohibits individuals who use or possess drugs from purchasing or owning firearms. Additionally, Hunter Biden admitted to tax evasion charges for failing to pay at least $1.4 million in income taxes between 2016 and 2019. He is expected to be sentenced in December.
