Rising sea levels threaten future of Small Island Nations

Small island developing states are facing a great injustice that threatens their future due to rising sea levels.

Axar.az reports that UN Secretary-General António Guterres said this during his speech at the Summit of Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

"Your economies are in ruins. Achievements in development have turned into rubble, and this injustice must end. G20 countries account for about eighty percent of global emissions. Your countries — the small island developing states — demonstrate what climate ambitions should look like. You are the first responders," A. Guterres said.
