Russian President Vladimir Putin was surprised by the courage and character of Georgian authorities in defending their position regarding the law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence".

Axar.az reports that he spoke about this during a press conference after his visit to Kazakhstan.

He noted that he was surprised by everything that happened in Georgia.

"We have no relationship with the Georgian leadership. I was simply impressed by the courage and character they showed to defend their point of view," the head of state said.

Also, while answering the question about the interference of the West in the internal politics of the countries of the former USSR, Putin said that whoever pays, he orders the music.

The head of state noted that if you look at the number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) financed by Western countries, the picture looks very real. Putin emphasized that NGO members participate in political activities in the countries of the former Soviet Union with money from foreign countries.
