Hamas leader disagrees with Khamenei on Assad’s downfall

Following Iranian leader Ali Khamenei's speech today regarding the fall of Bashar al-Assad and the events in Syria, Hamas Political Bureau Chief Khalid Mashal has issued a statement.

Axar.az reports that in an interview with "Al-Arabiya," Mashal expressed views contrary to Khamenei's statements about Syria.

"I congratulate the Syrian people on the fall of Bashar al-Assad; this was a revolution against oppression and injustice," Khalid Mashal said.

It is worth noting that earlier today, Ali Khamenei blamed three countries (the USA, Israel, and "Syria's neighbor") for the downfall of Bashar al-Assad.
