Pakistan confirms 7th coronavirus case

Pakistan on Sunday confirmed its seventh novel coronavirus case.

Axar.az informs that, the case was reported from the southern city of Karachi, according to a statement from the health department of the Sindh province, where Karachi is located.

The new case has been confirmed a day after the first COVID-19 patient was discharged from a Karachi hospital after "fully" recovering.

Like the previous six cases, the new patient had a history of traveling to neighboring Iran, which has reported the highest number of deaths after China and Italy.

This was the fourth case reported from Karachi alone. The other three cases in Pakistan were reported from the capital Islamabad and northern Gilgit-Baltistan region. Authorities say all the patients are in stable condition.

Pakistan confirmed its first case of the novel coronavirus on Feb. 26 in Karachi, where a 22-year-old male who had recently visited Iran was found to be infected.
