The World Health Organization (WHO) is concerned that the effects of the coronavirus crisis will continue for decades. At present, the acceleration of the pandemic is exacerbating concerns.

Axar.az reports that, the statement came from WHO Director-General Tedros Gerbeyesus at an online conference on June 22.

He said the biggest threat was not the virus itself, but rather a lack of global solidarity and global leadership. Because unless everyone is safe against the virus, no one will be safe.

The pandemic has long since emerged from the health crisis and has become an economic and social crisis in most countries, and even a political crisis in some countries.

The effects of this crisis will be felt in the coming decades.
