COVID-19 cases exceeded 23 million globally

The number of people who contracted the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic has surpassed 23 million on Friday, as the world continues to register a vast amount of positive cases with each new day.

Axar.az reports that according to the Worldometers tally, almost 800,000 people in total died due to the COVID-19. Looking at the data, it seems the pandemic has come to a plateau as the spreading curve suggests the crisis' peak might soon be over.

Commenting on the situation, WHO's Director-General Tedros Adhanom recently estimated the pandemic will be over in less than two years from now.
