WHO: We are far from lifting state of emergency

When the number of coronavirus infections and deaths decreases in all countries, we will lift the state of emergency. Now we are far from it.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris. She said that experts support the continuation of the state of emergency:

"On January 30, we declared a state of emergency, taking into account the health concerns of the international community. The organization has an emergency committee with independent experts. They analyze the situation on the basis of examples and advise the director general on whether to declare a state of emergency. Meetings are being held to review the situation. According to the general opinion, the state of emergency must continue."

The WHO official said that the main centers of the virus are currently the United States, South America and India.
