The approximate cost of the coronavirus vaccine produced by the US company Pfizer and the German company BioNTech for the European Union (EU) countries has been announced.

Axar.az reports that according to an EU official, the approximate cost of one dose of the vaccine will be 15.5 euros.

According to EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the 300 million-dose vaccine produced by Pfizer and BioNTech, which is part of the EU's procurement plans, will cost 4.6 billion euros.

The EU has signed a contract to supply 405 million doses produced by a German company. Supplies are expected to begin in March.
