The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of the spread of the Nipah, or NiV, virus, which was discovered in Malaysia in 1999.

Axar.az informs this was reported by the Guardian newspaper.

It is said that Nipah comes into contact with sick pigs that infect humans. The death rate from this virus is 40-75 per cent.

The disease causes fatal encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) and is asymptomatic.

It should be noted that no drug was found against Nipah.
