WHO statement on "vaccination passport"

The World Health Organization (WHO) does not support the requirement of a "vaccination passport" for travel.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris.

"As the WHO, we do not want to see a vaccination passport as an entry and exit requirement, because we are not sure whether the vaccine will prevent the transmission of the virus at this stage," Harris said.

The WHO spokesman also added that this would raise the issue of discrimination against people who cannot be vaccinated for various reasons.
