Jeffrey Barrett of the Senger Institute in Cambridge, UK, and Francis Ballou of the University of London have warned of a new and dangerous mutation in the coronavirus in India.

Axar.az informs that the new strain, called AY.4.2, is 10-15% more infectious than its predecessor, which is rampant in the world. According to scientists, "AY.4.2 will become the most contagious coronavirus during the pandemic," the report said.

The world's most common delta strain will dominate the planet until a new mutation in the coronavirus emerges.
