Harmanci: All vaccines are effective against Omicron

"The last strain discovered in Azerbaijan was the Delta. As all over the world, people here suffer from this version. The Omicron strain has not been found in Azerbaijan yet.

Axar.az reports this was stated by said Hande Harmanci, the World Health Organization's (WHO) representative and head of the office in Azerbaijan.

The WHO official visiting Ganja reminded that although a new strain has not yet been discovered in Azerbaijan, it does not mean that the Omicron variant will not come here: "Because when the Delta strain was discovered worldwide, I said it would, of course, spread in Azerbaijan too. This idea also applies to the Omicron strain since it is found in all countries. There is no need to panic. All vaccines used so far are effective against the new variant. All required precautions protect against Omicron. It is necessary to take strict protective measures just to protect ourselves and our loved ones."
