The omicron strain can strengthen the immune system against the Delta variant.

Axar.az reports this is stated in a study published on the portal MedRxiv.

Thus, 15 people (7 of whom were vaccinated) infected with the Omicron strain and experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 were studied. The researchers looked at the antibodies' ability to neutralize Omicron and Delta in 14 days.

It was found that the neutralization effect of the Omicron strain increased 14 times during that period. This indicates the strengthening of the immune system.

According to scientists, this fact indicates a sharp reduction in the risk of re-infection of the Delta.
