New version of the Omicron found in China

A new sub-variant of the coronavirus strain BA.1.1 has been discovered in the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the city's Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to the report, it will take time for analysis and comparison to learn more about the new subvariant.

A new variant of the Omicron coronavirus was first identified in 2021 in Botswana and South Africa.
