Omicron sub-variant detected in South Azerbaijan

Omicron subvariant of coronavirus infection was detected in Tabriz.

Axar.az reports this was stated by Huseyn Haqqayi, director of the Health Department of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences.

He said that based on the coronavirus tests conducted in Iran's East Azerbaijan province, several cases of the new omicron substrain (BQ1 and XBB) were observed in the province.

According to him, the infected people were put in quarantine, but due to the departure of Chinese people to East Azerbaijan, the probability of infection with the coronavirus strain is higher.
