Sputnik V vaccine no longer works - Ginzburg

"Sputnik V" vaccine has lost its effectiveness against the new strain, and now a new one is being developed.

Axar.az reports that Alexander Ginzburg, director of the Gamalei Center, said.

"When version XBB.1.5 of omikron appeared in January 2023, Sputnik completely stopped defending," Ginzburg said.

According to him, the initial version of "Sputnik V" was effective in the first two years, but after the emergence of new strains in the summer of 2022, the effectiveness of the vaccine began to decline.
