Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to Azerbaijan Egidius Navika.

Elmar Mammadyarov congratulated Egidius Navika on his appointment and wished the Lithuanian Ambassador success in his diplomatic mission.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the development of the relations between the two countries in political, cultural and other spheres.

They also stressed the importance of further economic and trade development between the two countries. He noted the wise foreign policy of Azerbaijan in the region and the importance of energy, transport and infrastructure projects implemented by our country.

He spoke about the success of the Lithuanian Twinning projects in Azerbaijan and the exchange of experience between our countries in this field, and said he would continue to work in this direction.

The sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

He presented a copy of his credentials to E. Mammadyarov.
