By the order of President Ilham Aliyev, Shusha has been declared the cultural capital of Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, on Twitter.

"Shusha's fame, pride, unparalleled cultural and architectural style are being restored after 30 years of military occupation by Armenia," Hajiyev said.
